The MTV Music Awards are coming back to Europe again! The event is called MTV Europe Music Awards („EMAs“ or „EMA“) and this is presented by MTV Networks Europe, which awards prizes to great musicians and performers. The first EMAs ceremony was held in 1994 in Berlin, Germany and since then, it takes place every year in a different European country. Furthermore, viewers and fans can choose the winners of each category by voting at EMAs’ website since 2007. As the presenters and winners have been very often American artists, other worldwide/regional nominations were added 5 years ago.
The gala this year, will take place on November 11th at 9pm CET / 8pm GMT in Rotterdam, Netherlands, for the second time in history. With no exception, at this year’s MTV EMA Awards, we can see the name of many top stars worldwide on the list of nominated artists, such as Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Drake, Rihanna, Adele, Coldplay, as well as some awesome EMA first-timers like Lukas Graham, Bebe Rexha and DNCE. By now, Beyoncé and Justin Bieber are leading the pack with five nominations each. Although it is still obvious that a lot of artists come from North America, but such a EMAs nominee lineup can definitely heat up Rotterdam this November!
