It is a great week for Formula 1 fans. A number of racing teams just unveiled or are going to unveil their new racing challengers for the coming season. Sauber was the first to launch their 2017 F1 car on Monday, followed by Renault on Tuesday and Force India on Wednesday. Ferrari and McLaren have scheduled their car presentations for Friday (February 24, 2017).
While the majority of the teams stuck to small unveilings, the World Champions – Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, decided to hold a big event in Silverstone. Lewis Hamilton and his new teammate Valtteri Bottas will present the Mercedes W08 to the audience and media on location and around the world. Recently, Mercedes-AMG published some teaser images of the new car, where a pretty rounded end and the rough design of the Mercedes car can be seen. The colours of the car would probably stay the same: silver from “Silver Arrow” and turquoise from its sponsor Petronas.
360° Live Stream via Facebook and YouTube
The presentation of the new racing challenger in Silverstone won’t be the single highlight. Mercedes-AMG Petronas is planning the first 360° live stream on Facebook, which is set to be an absolute first among companies. Up until now, Facebook users have only been able to enjoy nature scenes from the National Geographic or watch Obama’s farewell address actively. As a result, the presentation of Mercedes W08 will be an innovative step for Formula 1 and for Facebook as well. Those who don’t have a Facebook account can also find a 360° live stream on the YouTube channel of the racing team.
Furthermore, interviews and insights from behind the scenes sessions, will be available as live streams on social networks – a real highlight for motorsport fans! Both 360° live streams on Facebook and YouTube will start on February 23 at 12.10 a.m. GMT (local time). Find out all live streams from the Mercedes-AMG Car Launch on whats live?.
