Did you think, the Catholic Church can’t keep up with the times?
What so many market-listed companies can only manage with great difficulties, is already commonplace for the Catholic television EWTN TV. I’m talking about live broadcasts – both on special occasions from the St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican as well as the daily mass from the Cologne Cathedral!
EWTN TV transmits, for example, the celebration of the Holy Mass on Easter Sunday with Pope Francis under www.ewtn.de/livestream live on the internet! Hundreds of believers are expected at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome for the celebration of the highest festival of the Christian calendar year with the Papal Blessing „Urbi et Orbi“ (to the city and the globe). Some more throughout the world will be able to follow the Solemnity of Easter on March 27, 2016 with the Easter message via livestream. More videos around the clock are also available on the website katholisch.de.
Already in advance, starting with Palm Sunday on March 20, on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil on Saturday, all masses will be broadcast live on the website of Catholic television.
That the Catholic Church is open minded for new media, is proved by numerous channels such as their own Twitter channel under @katholisch_de or the pope himself under @Pontifex_de The Catholic Church is also in concact with believers via Facebook and their own YouTube Channel. Even the Catholic television is very open and has a presence on Facebook and Twitter, Instagram and YouTube with current content.
