Just one week to the Oscars 2016. Is this the year of Leonardo DiCaprio ? The Revenant received 12 nominations. Followed by the film Mad Max: Fury Road with 10 nominations. The following actors and films are also nominated for an Oscar:
The Actor in a Leading Role category brought in a talented mix of stars with Bryan Cranston, „Trumbo“, Matt Damon,“ The Martian“, Leonardo DiCaprio, „The Revenant“, Michael Fassbender, „Steve Jobs“ and Eddie Redmayne, „The Danish Girl“.
Actress in a Leading Role category is just as star-studded with Brie Larson, „Room“, Jennifer Lawrence, „Joy“, Charlotte Rampling, in „45 Years“ and Saoirse Ronan, „Brooklyn“. The two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett („Aviator“, „Blue Jasmin“) are nominated for the role „Carol Aird“ in the Drama „Carol“.
Sylvester Stallone can win this year his first Oscar. As Actor in a supporting Role in the movie “Creek”. This is the third Academy Award nomination for him after the 1976 (Rocky, Leading Role and Writing).
Kate Winslet received her seventh Academy Award nomination. As Actress in a supporting Role in “Steve Jobs”. Maybe, she can take her second Oscar home (“The Reader“,2008, Actress in a Leading Role).
