It’s an ice-cold action highlight. On the 27th February the finals of the Red Bull Crashed Ice season will take place in St. Paul, Minnesota. With a mixture of strength, balance and a dose adrenaline the skaters race down the long ice track, combined with daredevil jumps. This sport demands Quickness, perseverance and tactics absolute top performance of the athletes.
With speeds up to 50 km/h, they have to compete in the extremely challenging mode against the competitors. In the international competitions the participants have to qualify in the qualification runs. The qualification runs are time runs without direct opponents. The 64 quickest runners fight agains each other in groups of four to get into the finals. The first tow winners of each race reach the next round.
Between the start- and finishing line the drivers have to master technically demanding chicaneries and obstacles. In addition to the speedy races, the enthusiasm and the atmosphere is legendary. The competition takes place in St. Paul with up to 100,000 people under the floodlight.
